The Hamilton Jr Chargers U8 Red team finished league play this week with victories over the Oconomowoc Five O’s Navy and Fort Atkinson Jr. Blackhawks, winning 11-7 and 17-5 respectively. The Jr. Chargers improved their record to 10-2 in league play (20-3 overall), and secured first place in the American Division of the Wisconsin State Youth Baseball League.
The Jr Charger team collectively has batted .445 this season, delivering 249 hits, with an additional 204 bases gains on walks and HBP. Nearly one in every four hits this season has gone for extra bases (58), and the Charger boys have scored 269 runs this season.
On the mound, all eleven Jr. Chargers have contributed, with a combined ERA of 5.43. Charger pitchers have dominated opponents, allowing just 106 hits, 132 walks and 103 total runs, thus far this season. Opponents have also been held to a .244 batting average, striking out 228 times against the Charger hurlers. In addition, Charger catchers have thrown out eight base runners.
