The U9 Red team started the day on wild one against Phenom Wisconsin U9.  The game went back and forth and was 8-5 going into the bottom of fifth inning. C. Junemann and R. Rubens both started the inning with a singles and H. Alesci was hit by a pitch to load the bases.  L. Mueller walked to make the score 8-6 and then E. Erdmann tripled to right field igniting the crowd to win the game 9-8.   

In the next game we compiled 13 hits, 12 RBI’s and only gave up 5 runs to beat the Whitefish Bay Jr. Blue Dukes 15-5 in 4 innings. It was total team effort top to bottom.  That made us 2-0 to complete the day on Saturday making us the number 1 seed in our bracket going into Sunday. 

Sunday afternoon we played 6 Tool baseball U9 and we came out with our bats swinging again with 6 kids getting 2 or more hits totaling 17 hits and 14 RBI’s winning 15-3 in 4 innings. 

That brought us to the Championship game at 6pm Sunday and we faced Phenom Wisconsin U9 for the second time in the tournament.  Both Charger pitchers went 3 innings and battled to keep the game close all evening.  In the end they made more plays than us in the field and our hits couldn’t find open areas to get us on the board.  We ended up losing a hard fought game 5-0 in 6 innings and taking 2nd place in the 5 Diamonds Mid-Summer B Tournament.
