The U14 Red finished their first tournament of 2020 as champions as they won three straight games June 13 and 14th at the Monroe Baseball Tournament in Monroe, WI.

On Saturday, June 13, the 8th grade Chargers beat a team made up of mostly high school freshman from Kewaskum, 7-5.  Brandon Pohl pitched four innings, giving up four runs on three hits and had six strikeouts. Pohl also had one hit and a sac fly from the plate.

In their second game on Saturday, the Chargers defeated a team from Stockton, IL, by a score of 13-0.  Luke Balsiger pitched a one-hit shutout for the team while striking out nine and walking only one batter.  The team was also flawless in the field and did not commit a single error in that game.

In the championship game on Sunday, the Chargers beat Dodgeville via another great pitching performance, winning 11-0.  Owen Peterson and Kyle Lavoy combined for a no-hitter over the five-inning game. Balsiger and Pohl both had home runs and Lavoy hit a grand slam in the fifth inning to put the capstone on the weekend.

Congrats to the U14 Red!
